Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old, the first in the series, currently holds a 94-point rating from Whisky Advocate and has received awards from some of the world’s most discerning spirit critics. Every dram is finished in casks made from Japanese Mizunara Oak, a wood that takes more than 200 years to mature, and unlike American oak, doesn’t grow straight, making it difficult to craft into casks. The extra effort is well worth it as the liquid results in an intriguing balance of succulence, purity and smoothness.
